Oyster Herpes
Science Buzz Thousands of French oysters are dead after being infected with Oyster Herpesvirus type 1. Herpes infected oysters have overdeveloped genitalia and underdeveloped defenses, an apparently fatal combination. France is one of the world’s largest oyster exporters so don’t expect to celebrate over oysters and champagne anytime soon.
