Six-Word Motto

A contest to come up with a new, short slogan for the U.S.

Because "E Pluribus Unum" and "In God We Trust" are just too concise, the Times' Freakanomics blog called for a new six-word motto, so far receiving over a thousand entries. Favorites so far: "The hot girl who ignores you," "Just like Canada, with better bacon" and "Hubris: It's not just for Greeks."

Editorial note: Whoa! You've found a super-old post here on BuzzFeed, from an earlier era of the site. It doesn't really represent where we are anymore, and may in fact be totally broken, but we're leaving it up as a part of our early history.
