Throughout the Doctor Who series 1, the phrase "Bad Wolf" is following the Doctor and his companion around. This phrase is explained when the two land at Satellite 5 called the Bad Wolf Corporation in the series penultimate episode "Bad Wolf" where the Doctor discovers there are two hundred Dalek (extraterrestrial mutants in metal casings) battleships and the Dalek Emperor.

Realising the danger he is in, the Doctor sends his companion Rose Tyler home in the TARDIS with the sweet farewell words of "if you want to remember me", "have a fantastic life" in the "Parting of the Ways". However after the time Rose has spent in the TARDIS she realises that if she can look in to the time vortex she can return to save the Doctor again. Rose turns in to the Bad Wolf, scatters the Bad Wolf message across time and space, divides the atoms of the Daleks and brings Captain Jack Harkness back to life. The Doctor saves Rose by absorbing all the energy of the time vortex. Can the Doctor absorb the time vortex energy without any consequences?

To save Vincent from the monster (a Krafayis), the pair decide to visit the great painter. Amy and the Doctor find that Vincent Van Gogh is suffering with depression at times and doesn't believe his paintings are worth anything. The Krafayis (an alien omnivorous predator) is killed by Vincent's easel. To prove Vincent's artistic ability, they take Vincent to the mighty Musée d'Orsay to show Van Gogh the exhibition. While looking around the exhibition for Van Gogh's paintings, the Doctor asks the exhibition curator where he thinks Van Gogh ranks amongst the greatest artists. This beautiful and impeccably written episode is written by famous scriptwriter Richard Curtis.

Best moment: The Doctor and Amy showing Vincent the museum's Van Gogh exhibition while the museum's art curator explains why Van Gogh was the greatest painter ever.

Favourite quote: Exhibition curator- "To me Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular, great painter of all time. The most beloved, his command of colour most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world's greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived."

In the final scene, River finally reveals who she actually is to the Doctor, Rory and Amy.

Best moment: The big reveal of who River Song actually is.

Favourite quote: River Song- "This was *exactly* you. All this. All of it! You make them so afraid. When you began all those years ago, sailing off to see the universe, did you ever think you'd become this? The man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name. "Doctor": the word for "healer" and "wise man", throughout the universe. We get that word from you, y'know. But if you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean? To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word "doctor" means "mighty warrior". How far you've come. And now they've taken a child, the child of your best friends, and they're going to turn her into a weapon, just to bring you down. And all this, my love, in fear of you."

Like their personality's written all over it. And they just turn into something so beautiful."
