Unless you've avoided the Internet for the last three months, you're probably aware of the infamous "Why You Always Lying" video, which quickly became one of this year's biggest memes.
And while there were plenty of other memes that made us cry with laughter...
The "Why You Always Lying" video turned meme was undoubtedly the best of 2015.
1.Firstly, his face, which is just perfection, has become the universal symbol for someone lying.
2.It paved the way for several lies to be exposed.
3.It uncovered lies of the past...
4.Lies of the present...
5.And all the lies in between.
6.It prompted the man behind the masterpiece, Nicholas Fraser, to make a music video, and it was the video the world needed.
7.It even had a goddamn rain scene in it.
8.The "Why You Always Lying?" song was relatable to any situation.
9.Got a favourite character who recently died? Ask them why they dying.
10.Got someone in front of you who can't drive? Ask them why they driving.
11.It transcended language.
12.There was a Mexican version.
13.And then there was a lion version.
14.And, of course, someone made a Kanye version.
15.They even played it in a CLUB because it was that good.
16.People around the world danced to the "why you lying?" beat. Everyone just had to know why. Even Chris Brown.
17.Who was then swiftly corrected by the man himself.
18.It became so ingrained in our minds that people began inadvertently posing like Fraser.
19.And a fuckload of people dressed up as him for Halloween because who better to pay homage to than the man who brought "mmmmmmohmygod" to our lives?
20.Then, Nicholas made a Vine ~from the future~ in which he hands his present self the infamous blue shirt he wears in the video, saying "You're gonna need this," and it was memeception x 100.
21.Basically, it's the best goddamn meme of this year. It's a song, a phrase, and a hilarious still of a man's face, all in one. It is amazing.
