I woke up this morning thinking about the great night of sleep I'd get tonight, but Taylor Swift was like, "Nope, sweetie, not so fast."
With one (!!!!!!!) week left before Reputation drops on Nov. 10, Taylor's releasing a new single called "Call It What You Want" at midnight ET.
Taylor even shared some of the lyrics from the new single on Instagram:
Right away, eagle-eyed Swifties noticed that those lyrics sounded pretty familiar — and there are a few parallels with "Love Story"...
...which is CLEARLY not a coincidence:
2008: "Romeo save me." 2017: "You don't need to save me." #CallItWhatYouWant
Here's a full lyric-by-lyric breakdown:
BRB, I'M CRYIN'.
Fans are freaking out over the connection, saying that "Call It What You Want" is "Love Story" 2.0...
ARE WE GETTING LOVE STORY 2.0? CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT. IM CALLING IT LOVE!!! IDK I JUST KNOW IM READY #CallItWantYouWant
Calling it now: Call It What You Want is Love Story Version 2.0 @taylorswift13 doesn't need Romeo to save her anymore #CallItWhatYouWant
...or, more likely, a darker version of the classic romantic song:
Others have pointed out that there might even be a connection in the title itself:
And there's more! Remember that whole theory that each Taylor at the end of "Look What You Made Me Do" represents a different Reputation track?
Well, people are convinced that "Call It What You Want" is the Fearless era song:
I just realised #CallItWhatYouWant is gonna be Fearless era Tay and the lyrics kinda relate to Love story… https://t.co/IM5BHtvoYz
IF CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT IS TRACK FIVE (don’t know yet), IT MATCHES FEARLESS TAYLOR, WHAT A “COINCIDENCE” THE PARAL… https://t.co/yhAdWNiflF
If Call It What You Want is a slower piano fearless era vibe song I’ll cry
