Robin McKinley's Damar Duology

McKinley is a master at world building, and this YA duology is a great example of her talent. Even though the books were published years apart, you won't be able to tell from the prose.

BANISHED and UNFORSAKEN by Sophie Littielfield

Littlefield has written multiple series, a trilogy, and a few standalones, but these YA novels stand out as her only duology. These gripping YA novels feature Hailey Tarbell, a 16-year-old girl with the power to heal. Everyone is after her, but by book two, she has a better understanding of her powers and how to keep her and her brother safe.

The EON Duology by Alison Goodman

STARTERS and ENDERS by Lissa Price

A movie about twins should come as a duology, right? While the sequel was made almost a decade after it's predecessor and it doesn't quite pack the same punch as the first, this duology is worth viewing twice.

IF I STAY and WHERE SHE WENT by Gayle Forman

The beautifully written, poignant novel, IF I STAY, stood well on it's own. But WHERE SHE WENT, taking place three years later, is a wonderful follow up and asks many of the same questions. For something moving and romantic, grab both books and read them in a day.
