Julia Gillard Is The New Leader Of Beyond Blue

    She's back.

In her first job since quitting politics Julia Gillard will be the new chair of mental health organisation Beyond Blue.

Gillard takes over from former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett, who founded the organisation in 2000.

"I am very pleased to announce the board has unanimously supported Julia Gillard taking over from me in July the first this year," Kennett said.

"In Julia's hands the organisation will go from strength to strength."

Gillard said it was an honour to take over the leadership of the organisation which advocates on issues surrounding depression, anxiety and suicide.

"Beyond Blue is such an important organization to the Australian community that I do feel a special sense of delight at having been selected to lead," Gillard said.

Since quitting politics in 2013, Gillard has worked as chair for the Global Partnership for Education, which focuses on education for children in developing nations.
