It's been 10 years since The Hunger Games debuted in theaters and took the world by storm, so we're going to celebrate with some cool facts you may or may not know about the movie franchise!

1. The concept for The Hunger Games was inspired by reality TV and the Iraq War.

2. Several big-name actors auditioned for the role of Katniss Everdeen — which ultimately went to Jennifer Lawrence.
