College Football Team Bus Explodes, Literally Burns To A Crisp

The team is safe, but they need help if they want to continue their season.

On Saturday, a Division II football game between Miles College and Concordia-Selma was abruptly canceled when the Concordia team bus blew up on its way to the game.

According to reports, the fire was the result of two blown tires, and although no one was injured, the fire completely destroyed the bus and everything on board, including all of the team's equipment.

Since Concordia College is such a small school, that was all they had. The team must now rely on help from neighboring schools like Morgan Academy, a private K–12 school, which will loan the team pads, and Jeff Davis High School, which will loan out its uniforms. But the team still needs other essentials like cleats and balls.

Anyone wishing to help Concordia College Alabama by donating money or equipment can reach head coach and athletic director Don Lee at 815-573-8194 or via email at dlee@ccal.edu.
