Your Favorite K-Pop Song Was Probably Written By This Danish Dude

Not to mention one of the most-played songs of 2014.

Meet Thomas Troelsen, an earworm farmer (and songwriter/producer) from Denmark who has co-written and co-produced some of the biggest K-pop hits of the last five years.

Never heard of him? Maybe you've heard "Mirotic" by TVXQ!

Troelsen started his career with the Danish band Superheroes:

Troelsen was only 15 when he founded the band in the mid-'90s. After recording a self-produced EP titled See You At the Railroads, the band released its debut album, Dancing Casanova in 1998. A sweet brew with elements of power pop, synth pop and lounge, Dancing Casanova shows off Troelsen’s penchant for syrupy melodies and sticky hooks. Superheroes would go on to release two more albums, the more synth-pop-leaning Igloo (1999) and Superheroes (2002).

And he's done more than just K-Pop. Back in 2003, Troelsen worked on the dancefloor classic "Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior.

    Tapping your feet, aren't ya?

He also had a hand in "We Are One (Ole Ole)," the official 2014 World Cup song featuring Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Claudia Leitte:

Good luck getting this one out of your head.

He's also on Twitter, where he drops stoner gems like this:

And he's currently the frontman of a dance pop outfit called PRIVATE. Here's "We've Got Some Breaking Up To Do," one of their most popular tracks:
