A "Friends" Fan Thought Up An Incredibly Dark Alternative Ending For The Show

"The crazy lady who always stares at us."

Twitter user @strnks has come up with a suggestion for how the sitcom Friends ought to have ended.

My proposal for how hit 90s TV sitcom Friends should have ended.

It turns out that the whole 10-year run of the show was in Phoebe's imagination.

Phoebe is a homeless meth addict, staring in the window of Central Perk at the perfect lives of the five other Friends.

The final scene begins with Phoebe walking away from Central Perk, as the other five, behind her, refer to "the crazy lady who keeps on staring at us".

They're not called Rachel, Joey, Ross, Chandler, and Monica. Those are just the names she's given them. None of it was real.

Phoebe walks past a furniture store, and sees herself reflected in the window. The store is called "Ursula".

Then she goes to the fountain you see in the beginning credits, which is where she sleeps, on a park bench. Alone, she puts up six brightly coloured umbrellas. Fin.

Friends fans: Can we agree that is now the canonical, actual ending of Friends?

Because it's so much better than the original.
