Herring under a fur coat is basically like a "7-layer dip, but Russian, and actually a salad." It contains herring, potatoes, onions, carrots, beets, mayo, and eggs." At Kachka, you can taste this and other Russian fare, alongside a glass of one of several house-infused vodkas.

Who doesn't like ice cream? Nobody, that's who. Salt & Straw was started by two cousins in Portland who set out to make the tastiest ice cream ever. With unique flavors like "Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper", and "Freckled Woodblock Chocolate", they definitely succeeded. They also have specials that come out every season, with new flavors coming this January. When you visit Portland, you visit Salt & Straw. It's a must!

6. Bhel Puri

Bollywood Theater is the place to go if you're craving delicious Indian food with a subtle modern touch. Seen here is the Bhel Puri — it's potatoes, vegetables, onions, peanuts, spices, and puffed rice with green and tamarind chutneys.

If you've never had Peruvian food, you haven't truly lived, and that is...upsetting. Opened in 2003, Andina was one of the first restaurants to serve Peruvian cuisine to the Pacific Northwest, like this slow-cooked lamb shank known as Seco a La Norteña.

Bone marrow is an incredibly special experience, and this marrow from Little Bird Bistro looks like it's probably the best damn marrow you can find anywhere. Look at all that dang marrow! And look at the BREAD, for crying out loud! Chef Gabriel Rucker is a two-time James Beard Award winner, and it's clear why.

Tamale Boy started as a food truck and catering business, and made the leap to brick-and-mortar in 2014. Their menu changes seasonally and reflects the various flavors found throughout Mexico. If you love good Mexican food, you'll absolutely love what Tamale Boy is cooking up.

10. Empanadas and Asado

What do you get when you combine the wood-fired grilling tradition of Argentina with the culinary heritage of Spain, France, and Italy? You get Ox. Chefs Greg Denton and Gabrielle Quiñónez Denton showcase prime local meats and fish and seasonal produce to create distinct, delicious favorites like the empanadas and asado.

Of course, no food list would be complete without pizza. Pizza Jerk has a classic pizzeria vibe with a cool name, and some damn tasty pies, like this half pepperoni, half bolognese pizza.
