MESA, Arizona—Rick Santorum opened up on Mitt Romney at the start of the final debate before Super Tuesday, attacking the former Massachusetts governor for raising taxes and "adopting the Occupy Wall Street rhetoric."

Romney initially passed on an opportunity to criticize Santorum, who was not so timid.

"Governor Romney raised $700 million in taxes and fees in Massachusetts. I never voted to raise taxes. Governor Romney even today suggested raising taxes on the top 1 percent, adopting the Occupy Wall Street rhetoric. I'm not going to adopt that rhetoric. I'm going to represent 100 percent of Americas — we're not raising taxes on anybody."

Romney pushed back, saying his tax plan would cut the tax rate for all Americans by 20 percent.
