"There is an objectively correct answer to this question. When Jake Gyllenhaal’s character Robert Graysmith is in the basement of a man’s home while investigating a possible lead, the man takes Graysmith to his basement to show him some old film posters that may have a handwriting sample that Graysmith can use in his investigation. While down there, Graysmith thinks he hears footsteps on the floor above them, and asks the man if they are indeed alone, as the man had assured him they were when he arrived.

It is a scene that is reminiscent of any number of high-tension horror scenes, masterfully done in a film that was absolutely robbed during awards season that year."
