Japan Actually Has Real Life Magicians And It's Wild

TELL US YOUR SECRETS, WIZARD FROM JAPAN!

This video of an old man magically levitating a cup and cigarette is getting a lot of attention on Twitter:

    昨日ベルの喫煙所にすげーおっちゃんおった どーなってんだ😀🙃

    Look closely at the cup...

    It floats!

From the way he moves his hands and the shadow cast by the cup, there doesn't appear to be any obvious mechanism making the cup float.

And then if there was any doubt, he repeats the trick with a lit cigarette.

    WHAT?!

    WHAAAAAAAAT?!

BuzzFeed Japan reached out to 22-year-old Felipe Isamu Nagano, who recorded the video:

According to Mr. Nagano, the video was shot at Aeon Mall Suzuka, in Mie prefecture (Which is called Bell City locally.)

"He did that magic at a smoking area next to the food court on the second floor 😆"

According to Nagano, he and his three friends met the magician when a mall employee started to clean the table they were sitting at in the smoking section of the mall

Without any warning, the man just started doing magic.

"He just started making the paper cup float around. When we asked him to do it again, he did it without saying a word. He never said anything, but as it was time for us to eat, we thanked him and left the smoking area 😅"

Mr. Nagano says the identity of the magician is unknown, but that he's quite well-known among friends who live in the Suzuka area.

Like any good magician, the wizard of Aeon Mall in Japan never reveals how his trick is done. We just have to assume it's actual ~magic~.
