To date, over 186 million people in the US have gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some of those people, including yours truly, jumped at the opportunity to get the shot as soon as they were eligible. Others, however, were skeptical and slow to come around.
Given the public health threat posed by vaccine hesitancy, I'm especially curious what convinced former skeptics to get a COVID-19 shot. So if this sounds like you (or someone you know well), we want to hear your story.
Perhaps you initially believed anti-vax pundits who said COVID was "just like the flu," but after suffering the loss of a loved one, you saw first-hand how real and how deadly COVID-19 can be.
Maybe you, like Elizabeth Greenaway of Pennsylvania, realized that your potential sickness would result in there being no one to care for your child who has a serious medical condition.
Or perhaps you didn't trust doctors on TV, but having a conversation with your own doctor who took time to answer all your questions convinced you to get the shot.
