Hi guys! I hope you are all socially-distancing, and I hope you're spending this weird time with your family either virtually, IRL, or a mix of both! And sure, I get it — if you usually only see your fam (from parents to grandparents to young nieces and nephews) every once in a while, you may be running out of things to talk about now that it's quarantine day...um...I've lost count.
Or maybe you're just looking for a cool way to take advantage of this unique time to bond with your fam as much as possible. Either way, I've thought up some entertaining questions that weigh about as much as a polar bear (aka enough to break the ice):
1.What did you actually do before the internet and cell phones? What if you were meeting someone somewhere and had to cancel or were running late — how would you tell them? What did you do when you were bored?
2.What's your best career advice? What did you learn from being a ______?
3.You've probably already asked your kids or little cousins or siblings the basics, like what they want to be when they grow up or their favorite color. Try something more creative to hear the (likely LOL-worthy) ways they see the world. What do you think *insert your pet's name here* thinks about all day? How do airplanes work? What is the meaning of life?
4.If you've never asked your closest relative, be it your mom or your grandma or your brother, about their first relationship or dating mishaps, NOW is the time to get the tea.
5.Ask your grandparents how they met, even if you've already heard the story a million times.
6.What is the best book you've ever read/movie or TV show you've ever seen?
7.Is this the weirdest moment in history you've lived through? How does it compare to other major national/global events in your lifetime?
8.Can I see some pictures of you as a kid?
9.Which relative that I never got to meet would I get along with best? Do I resemble anyone?
10.Have you ever seen a ghost, or had some kind of strange experience you couldn't explain?
11.Did you have pets growing up? What kind, and what were their names?
12.When you were younger, what did you think your life would be like now? Did you think you'd be doing your current job, get married, have kids?
13.Have you ever met a celebrity? Or spotted one out and about?
14.Do you have any weird talents? Can you curl your tongue or are you double-jointed?
15.What's the best meal you've ever eaten?
16.Can you teach me how to ______?
17.Or, can I teach you how to _____?
18.If you ever have kids, what would you name them? What about if you got a dog/fish/bunny/unicorn?
19.What is the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you?
20.What was your first concert? Do you still like that artist today?
21.Ask them to play Two Truths and a Lie so you can see how well you really know each other, and you can learn some fun facts along the way.
22.Who is your celebrity crush?
23.Ask your kids who they think should be the next president. It might be safer than asking any of your other relatives.
24.What is the dumbest/dirtiest/best joke you know?
25.Pretty much any "Would you rather..." question. You can come up with your own, or find about a zillion from a quick Google.
26.Who would play you in a movie?
27.Would you ever be willing to be on a reality show, and if so, which one?
