Jonah Hill Got Real About Feeling Confident In His Body After Paparazzi Took Photos Of Him Surfing

"I’m 37 and finally love and accept myself."

Jonah Hill just wrote a lovely response to a tabloid article after they posted photos of him surfing at the beach.

Jonah shared the Daily Mail story of him in Malibu with the caption, "I don’t think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid 30s even in front of family and friends. Probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities weren’t exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers."

"So the idea that the media tries to play me, by stalking me while surfing and printing photos like this, and it can’t phase me anymore is dope," he continued. "I’m 37 and finally love and accept myself."

"This isn’t a 'good for me' post. And it’s definitely not a 'feel bad for me' post. It’s for the the kids who don’t take their shirt off at the pool. Have fun. You’re wonderful and awesome and perfect. All my love."

“Oh and Daily Mail,” he concluded, “Not even you can take that smile from my face.”

Plus, if Twitter is anything to go by, lots of people were into his message:

All power to Jonah Hill for fucking the M*il off and taking the narrative back for himself and his body.

And this isn’t the first time Jonah has gotten candid about his body image either, last year he told GQ that people never took his style seriously because of his weight, and that "It's really hard when you're overweight to dress a certain way, because clothes aren't made for people who are overweight to have style."

And I, for one, think we could all have a much better time on this Earth if we loved and accepted ourselves!
