    When it comes to the portrayal of beautiful friendships in Hindi cinema, one can't stop eulogising the likes of Jai-Veeru, Akash-Sameer-Sidharth, Imraan-Arjun-Kabir, and Munnabhai-Circuit, for obvious reasons. These duos and trios were truly the benchmarks of remarkable friendships. However, there are so many comradeships in Hindi films that are so underrated and so overlooked, that it's time we celebrated them!

    1. MC Sher and Murad from "Gully Boy".

    Real friends help you grow and derive joy out of your success and Siddhant Chaturvedi's MC Sher does exactly that when he selflessly guides Murad (Ranveer Singh) through the world of street rap in Zoya Akhtar's "Gully Boy". There was no unnecessary jealously or drama here — just the portrayal of a wholesome and healthy friendship.

    2. Naina and Aditi from "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".

    Despite your many, many differences, a good friend will always be there for you — making sure you're okay and constantly checking in on you. That's precisely what Naina (Deepika Padukone) and Aditi (Kalki Koechlin) continue to do for each other in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".

A jovial Anand (Rajesh Khanna) changes Dr Bhaskar's (Amitabh Bachchan) very outlook, as he teaches him the importance of living life to the fullest, despite his own heart-breaking fate.

    Nitesh Tiwari's "Chhichhore" is all about lifelong friendships, especially those special ones that are forged in college — in hostels, sports grounds, and canteens. It will definitely take you back to the good old days and also make you shed a tear or two.

    5. Upasana, Chanbi, Zorem, and Minam from "Axone".

    Friends go out of their way to make each other happy, as evidenced by Upasana, Chanbi, and Zorem's efforts to prepare Axone for Minam's wedding. Despite facing many difficulties — constantly being otherized, for example — and inspite of the differences and arguments that crop up, they stick together for their friend.

    6. Ayesha and Kabir from "Dil Dhadakne Do".

    Ayesha and Kabir weren't just siblings — they were best friends. Kabir always stood up for his sister, even though it meant that he was going against the wishes of their parents. On the other hand, Ayesha rebuked him when needed, supported his love for Farah, AND laughed at all his silly jokes. Their bond was like no other.

    7. Vidya Bagchi and Rana from "Kahaani".

    Rana and Vidya's friendship was extremely unlikely — she was a pregnant woman desperately searching for her missing husband and he was a police officer who was merely assisting her. However, in doing so, he proved himself to be the finest, truest companion one can ever have. He was the wind beneath her wings, and Vidya's faith in him was unwavering.

    8. Leela, Shireen, Rehana, and Usha from "Lipstick Under My Burkha".

    Alankrita Shrivastava's "Lipstick Under My Burkha" is a fantastic depiction of strong, female friendships wherein women lift each other up and stand by each other, especially in the midst of hardships, despite their many flaws. The film, by no means, has a happy ending, but it does reaffirm our faith in the power of sisterhood.

    9. Mimi, Shama, and Bhanu from "Mimi".

    Good friends will always be there to protect you, no matter what — even if it sometimes means that they have to lie for you. This is just what Shama and (later) Bhanu do for Mimi as she traverses through the trials and tribulations of being a surrogate mother.

    Friends can often be your biggest pillars of support — helping you through your troubles, calling you out when necessary, always being the shoulder that you cry on, and never failing to make you laugh when life throws you a curveball. Karan and Tara from "Made In Heaven", who aren't just business partners, but friends who stand by each other through the best and worst of times, are great examples.

    11. Dingo and Khanna from "Ladies Room".

    Best friends Dingo (Saba Azad) and Khanna (Shreya Dhanwanthary) have six deep, coarse, and hilarious conversations about pot, pregnancy, judgemental people, life secrets, ex-boyfriends, and unemployment — in six different loos. And even in the midst of all this "toilet humour", they're always loving and supportive of each other.

    12. JK Talpade and Srikant from "The Family Man".

    Work besties Srikant Tiwari and JK Talpade from "The Family Man", are perhaps the best examples to give when one talks about trust in friendships. Right from guarding secrets to always having each other's backs, their camaraderie is everlasting (and so endearing).
